USB Charging Cable with Inline Watt Meter

USB charging cables are a dime a dozen. It can be hard to know which cable is good and which one is just junk. Often times cables with funky names that don’t even seem to be English words are the ones that, if you do purchase, you’ll be replacing soon. Even reputable companies like Mcdodo can have issues. 

This is what we found while testing. One of our TekResearchers bought a Mcdodo USB A to USB C cable for a Samsung Note 10. The TekResearcher noticed that the cable would just start and stop charging at random any time the phone was picked up or moved. The issue was that the USB C side which plugs into the phone was too small and didn’t fit correctly into the charging port on the Samsung Note 10. This may have been an isolated case.
