We have looked at some of the gaming smartphones on the market and compiled a listing of some of the key features you will want in your high-end gaming phones!

1. Faster Processing Power – The processor of a gaming phone is often tweaked at the factory to have faster speeds. The trade-off of this is shorter battery life, efficiency, and heat. You may need to explore cooling options like a liquid or vapor chamber or even external cooling.

2. Screen size and refresh rate – A Screen size of 5.5 inches or larger and a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

3. Loud Speakers – Look for a model that features dual stereo speakers unless you’re using headphones.

4. Battery Life – It is pointless to have a gaming phone with a dinky battery. Many models are now offering batteries over 3000mAh with the Asus ROG phones offering a 6000mAh battery life.

There is way more info on gaming smartphones than we have here and our TekResearchers are still exploring, reviewing, and comparing many of the gaming smartphones on the market right now. Usually (but not always) a Smartphone with multiple charging ports is also going to be a gaming smartphone.

The ASUS Rog 5, for example, has one port at the bottom of the phone and one on the side. This allows for charging while using the phone in landscape mode. Factory defaults on this phone do not allow for both ports to be used simultaneously but there are ways to mod the phone but you will have to do your own research into that. ASUS isn’t the only brand to offer a smartphone with more than one charging port. Lenovo’s Legion Duel 2 and Xiaomi’s Black Shark 3 both have multiple charging ports and rival the ASUS Rog 5 in screen size, processor power, battery life and functionality.

We are merely scratching the surface with the info we have here. Our TekResearchers are still gathering info on these types of phones. We have a small stub Article About Smartphones with Multiple Charging Ports. It could use some help from the community though. Please have a look and give us feedback on how we can expand the small stub article into a full article about this subject.

Manufacturers over the years have come out with some pretty strange smartphones. Some manufacturers have tried to solve a problem of typical smartphones of the times. While others have mashed together two types of technology and utterly failed. Here is a short list of some weird phones.

1. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom – Released in 2013 this phone tried to combine a smartphone and a digital camera and failed at both. Although the concept of a high-quality camera on a smartphone persisted and now some cameras on phones rival digital cameras. And with apps you have a complete digital photo editing suite right on your phone.
2. The LG Wing – 2 Screens. Yeah, that’s right 2 screens. The LG Wing had a second screen that slid out and rotated to form a “T”. We aren’t really sure what LG was trying to achieve with this phone. It’s possible they were trying to emulate a tablet or maybe going for the Guinness World record for “Number of strange looks you get when you whip out your phone to make a call.” Either way the LG wing is definitely a unique phone.
3. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. This phone is a predecessor to the current gaming phones like the ASUS ROG phone 5. But the Xperia Play being a Sony product tried to combine the functionality of a phone with a Playstation portable. It would have achieved success if Sony had released some classic Playstation games for it. In the end, it wasn’t a huge success for them but it still is a unique concept to combine a gaming pad into a phone.

Our TekResearchers are looking for more phones like this and we would like to take what we have here and add to it to make more than just a small stub article. Which you can find here: Article About Unique Android Smartphones

No, infrared blaster ports won’t turn your phone into a ray gun. But it will let you communicate with other technologies that work with an infrared remote like a tv or stereo equipment.

As with each different type of smartphone this one too has its pros and cons. One pro is that it can be used with older technology that doesn’t support wireless or Bluetooth. However, on the Cons side of things, these types of phones are limited to just a handful of manufacturers such as Poco, Redmi, and Xiaomi.

Our dedicated TekResearchers are still gathering info about smartphones with infrared blasters. We have a small stub Article About Smartphones with Infrared Blasters created but it needs your help.
